Over the past decade, we have seen the digital marketing landscape evolve as rapidly and drastically as it changed the business landscape. From consumer behavior to competitors’ strategies, everything is changing at a breakneck pace.

The changes in the digital marketing world are all so fast and spontaneous that you can’t really rely on predictions and forecasts. Now that we are midway through the year, this can be the best time to evaluate and revise your strategy to make sure you have all the bases covered for the rest of the year. So, let me elaborate on a couple of points:

Create a list of your customers’/potential customers’ questions

Most digital marketers will tell you that the most important thing to do is to “know your audience.”

How do you learn more about them?

Ask.

Reach out to your customers and find out what their challenges are. Ask them questions about what they want (and if they aren’t sure about what they want, narrow it down to what they don’t want).

Answer your customers’/potential customers’ questions (with valuable content)

The key here is to start a dialogue online that simultaneously provides value for them; this will set a good foundation for you.

Don’t sound salesy here, or else it will sound too promotional.

Sharing content with your audience

Referring to Point #1, it’s important to know where your customers are, as well. You can promote your content in a variety of ways, but it’s important that it reaches out to the right people and that people are invested in you/subscribed to you already.

Boosting your content through your digital channels

Now that you have content, you have an opportunity to use that content with others. The great thing about digital is you can target people with similar interests to what you have written.

Promote your products to the right people

For those who reacted positively to your content and now have a vested interest in your brand, you can target them with ads to your products/services.

Analyze your results, optimize your content, and repeat

One of the most important steps!

You cannot monitor what you cannot measure. Make sure you are using tools that can track/analyze/measure your digital success… both on your digital channels (e.g. social media/email/etc.) and on your website.
