Clickstream Behavior

Knowing your users’ online behavior can be extremely useful when designing a user acquisition strategy.

What is clickstream behavior?

A clickstream is a set of clicks performed by a user. The clickstream behavior is basically a map of the user’s interactions with a particular website. Where the user clicks, which pages are visited or clicked on, etc.

What is clickstream data and how do companies use it?

Clickstream data is the data gathered from the users’ clickstream behavior. It can be used, not only, to analyze the behavior of the user on the brand’s website, but also, the online behavior of the user before and after the brand’s website. Understanding where the user came from before entering your website can be useful in order to understand that users’ motivations for connecting with your brand.

Knowing the users’ destination after they leave your website is also interesting as it may shine a light on the reason for their abandonment, and help you prevent this in the future.
