Google Hummingbird

A Google search algorithm that was officially announced in September 2013 after it had been in use for a month. The purpose of Hummingbird was to better understand the full context of queries (i.e., semantic search), rather than certain keywords, in order to provide better results.

How the Hummingbird update affect SEO?

The way people search is constantly changing. Since the advent of searchability online, people have grown to expect to find answers quickly and easily. Whether they speak to search, type out full questions, or even search from different devices throughout the day expecting the same results, people have grown reliant on Google’s results. How many times does Google change their algorithm?

Generally speaking, the company rolls out 500 to 600 changes to its search algorithms each year. However, many of these changes are minor and the average web user wouldn’t even notice that changes have taken place. When it comes to major updates and algorithm changes, Google is more conservative with its changes.
