Hypothesis Testing
Hypothesis testing is used to infer the result of a hypothesis performed on sample data from a larger population. The test tells the analyst whether or not his primary hypothesis is true. Statistical analysts test a hypothesis by measuring and examining a random sample of the population being analyzed.

Hypothesis testing is a statistical method that is used in making statistical decisions using experimental data. Hypothesis Testing is basically an assumption that we make about the population parameter. In hypothesis testing, the normal curve that shows the critical region is called the alpha region.

The principle of proposing a hypothesis, reformulating it into a “null” form, and then testing the robustness of that null hypothesis is fundamental to scientific inquiry and the entire process of advancing knowledge.
