Mobile App Intelligence

Help Topics

In-app marketing, k-factor is a metric which describes the growth rate of apps. By measuring how many new users each of your existing users bring along to the app, k-factor provides insight into the effectiveness of incentives for current users to share the app with other people.

What is a good way to track K-Factor in a mobile app?

This is a hard question in mobile since it’s difficult to track conversions through the various app stores. On Apple’s AppStore, for example, there is no referral tracking so it’s difficult to know the source of a given user (organic, paid, referral, etc.). Without knowing the source of a given user it’s difficult to determine if they accepted an invite or just found the application on their own. See full article for more details.
