Programmatic Media Buying

A large portion of online advertising is now traded programmatically.

What does programmatic advertising mean?

Programmatic advertising is the automated process of buying and selling of media advertising. It differs from the typical form of digital advertising which was performed by human ad buyers and can turn out to be an expensive and unreliable process.

How does programmatic media buying work?

It depends on an algorithm to purchase and sell advertising space. It allows for the targeting of specific audiences to which you wish to show your ads, thus optimizing the investment.

How is programmatic different from real-time bidding?

Real-time bidding is a type of programmatic media buying. The process of real-time bidding resembles that of an auction in which the ads are purchased at the moment. Other types of programmatic allow for the purchase of guaranteed impressions beforehand from specific publisher sites.
